MVCPA announces January events

Several events are scheduled in January at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

The Nova Vista Symphony Association is set to present the Saint Michael Trio 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The trio performs chamber music. Tickets are $5-$12.

TheatreWorks is slated to present “Somewhere” Jan. 16 through Feb. 10. The play follows a talented clan of dancers determined to crash the boards of Broadway, Hollywood and ultimately America itself. It is told in dance as well as drama. Tickets are $23-$73.

As part of its Stories on Stage series, Peninsula Youth Theatre is set to present “Many Moons” 9:30 and 11 a.m. Jan. 18 and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Jan. 19. Only the jester knows the questions to ask a princess who wishes for the moon in this play based on James Thurber’s book. Tickets are $8-$10.

A guitar concert featuring Josh Fiedman, Yuri Libezon and Patrick O’Connell is scheduled 6 p.m. Jan. 30. Tickets are $5-$10.

A visual arts exhibition showcasing work by Nadia Vinogradova, “Oil On Palm,” is set to run through Feb. 11 in the center lobby. Admission is free.
