West Bay Opera performs 'Aida' through Sunday

This is the final weekend to catch West Bay Opera’s production of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Aida” in Palo Alto.

The Town Crier is a media sponsor of “Aida,” which premiered in 1871 to celebrate the opening of the Suez Canal.

This is the first time West Bay Opera has fully staged “Aida” in its entirety, according to José Luis Moscovich, the company’s conductor and general director,

Yefim Maizel directs “Aida,” which stars Karen Slack as the title character.

Performances are scheduled 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
