Long time Los Altos Resident, Beloved Wife, Mother & Omi passed away unexpectedly January 9, 2013 of Cardiac Arrest while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Karin was born on November 30, 1940 in Stuttgart, Germany to Karl and Paula Burger. It was in Germany where she met the love of her life William P. Hamilton who was serving in the U.S. Army. They soon married at The Ludwigsburg Castle on September 13, 1958. They set up permanent residence in California a few years after marriage.

Karin loved spending time with her family & friends, shopping, relaxing hikes, leisure bike rides, cooking, wine (with an ice cube) and watching Lifetime movies. She was so proud to be a Great Grandmother at such a young age. Although she & Bill had home bases in Lake Tahoe, Germany & Puerto Vallarta, they continued to travel all over the World as travel was her passion, often sharing those experiences with family and friends.

She is preceded in death to her parent’s, her sister Eva Skyles Smith and brother, Karl Burger. She is survived by her loving Husband of 54 years, William P. Hamilton of Los Altos.

Son, William G. Hamilton of Los Gatos. Daughter, Yvonne K. Messimer (Dale) of Mountain View. Granddaughter, Michelle Y. Donati (Paul) of San Jose. Grandsons, Christopher W. Crook of Sunnyvale and Justin W. Hamilton of Campbell. Great-grandsons, Brady P. Donati and Parker W. Donati of San Jose. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Dear Friends in Germany and the U.S. She is deeply missed by all who knew her.

There will be a private family internment. Friends are welcome to join the family at a Celebration of Life Saturday, February 23, 2013 10:00 AM at The Palo Alto Elks Lodge.
