Mountain View police apprehended two burglary suspects, identified as Lawrence Ovadia, 33, of Los Altos, and Sterling Winterhalter, 28, of Mountain View.

A witness Sunday afternoon (Feb. 2) reported a storage unit burglarized at 707 Continental Circle and suspects fleeing in a dark-colored pick-up truck. Police, responding to the call, located the vehicle parked in the Goodwill parking lot (855 E. El Camino Real) occupied by Ovadia.

Winterhalter, who was outside the vehicle and saw officers arrive, fled on foot, police said. He was caught and arrested at the nearby Lucky’s grocery store.

Both suspects were identified as well as the stolen property located in the truck. The subsequent investigation led officers to other stolen property that detectives are currently trying to match up with victims.

Ovadia and Winterhalter were booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail for a variety of theft related charges including burglary, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property.
