The City of Los Altos is implementing a construction project to improve sidewalks and medians along San Antonio Road in the downtown. Click "Read More" for the latest progress from Kathy Kleinbaum, the city's economic development manager.

(As of March 15): During this past week, the contractor continued to work on the sidewalk section adjacent to the parking lot area. The contractor also worked on relocating the storm drain system, installation of the visual screen, including the column and intermediate post foundations, and the improvements at the central median islands.

For the week of March 18, the contractor plans to work on relocating storm drain system as well some of the ADA ramps. The contractor also plans to pour more concrete saw teeth curb and continue to work at median islands as well as the rain gardens at the parking lot. It's anticipated to have temporary lane closures on San Antonio Road during non-commute hours due to the work at the sidewalk area and median islands.
