The 1905 Craftsman home of J. Gilbert Smith is scheduled to open for “Catch the Spirit” noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 14. The event celebrates both the holiday season and the 60th anniversary of the incorporation of Los Altos The historic home, decorated for the season, will feature a shop filled with retro-style merchandise. Docents, from left, Diane Simmons, Lorraine Malmgren, Emily Hollinger Pinky Whelan, Ann Foxen and Jean Kenny will share the history of the preserved orchard home.
