Union Presbyterian Church has scheduled an introductory Alpha Course 6-8:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the church’s Landels Room, 858 University Ave., Los Altos.

The class, designed for those who are curious about Christian beliefs and faith in God, will continue on Thursday nights with a series of DVD presentations followed by roundtable discussions.

According to organizers, the class offers an opportunity to explore Christianity in a relaxed setting over 10 sessions. Questions covered include: Why do Christians believe what the Bible says? What do Christians believe about evolution and the creation of the world? Does God really exist? Is this all there is to life, or is there more after death?

More than 18 million people worldwide – of many different backgrounds, religions and viewpoints – have taken the Alpha course. Some have gone to church all their lives but feel they never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. All are invited to attend.

A light meal will be served.
