First Friday events regularly feature live entertainment, such as this horn-playing ensemble in front of Le Boulanger on Main Street.

Los Altos Forward has scheduled a First Friday Oktoberfest event 6-10 p.m. Friday in downtown Los Altos.

A Bier and Weingarten is slated 7:30-10 p.m. on the outdoor patio behind the Costume Bank, 169 State St. Bavarian music will play, and beverages and refreshments will be served.

Shops and galleries will remain open until 8 p.m., many offering discounts and free refreshments.

A Pumpkin Hunt game is slated 6-8 p.m. A “Candidates’ Corner,” where residents can meet and talk with Los Altos City Council and Los Altos School District candidates, will be open 6-7:30 p.m. on the patio behind the Costume Bank.

Attendees can enter a drawing for gift certificates donated by local stores and restaurants. To accumulate tickets, participate in the Pumpkin Hunt game or purchase merchandise during First Friday.
