Mountain View Kiwanis Club presents grants to 31 nonprofits

The Kiwanis Club of Mountain View Foundation is scheduled to present grant awards to 31 local nonprofit organizations noon to 1:30 p.m. today at Ristorante Don Giovanni, 235 Castro St., Mountain View.

The foundation’s Grants Committee considered grant requests that met a critical health or human care need in Mountain View and adjacent communities and addressed the needs of low-income children, adolescents or seniors more than 60 years of age. Eligible organizations submitting grant requests had federal 501(c)(3) status.

Organizations receiving grants include the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Youth Rugby Union, Avenidas – Rose Kleiner Senior Day Health Center, Challenge Team, the Community Health Awareness Council, the Community School of Music and Arts, the Community Services Agency, the Mountain View Police Officer’s Association Cops & Gobblers program, the Crittenden School Music Department, the Day Worker Center of Mountain View, Friends of Deer Hollow Farm, Hidden Villa, JustREAD, the Kiwanis Family House, the Living Classroom Program, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Mountain View High School, MVLA Adult School, the Mountain View Police Department Dreams & Futures and PAL programs, Partners for New Generations, the Peninsula Oral School of the Deaf, Peninsula Youth Theatre, the Positive Coaching Alliance, Quadre, Senior Adults Legal Assistance, Silicon Valley Faces, the Taylor Family Foundation, the American Association of University Women Tech Trek program, the Westwind 4-H program and the YWCA Support Network program.
