Dec. 27, 5:33 p.m., 4000 block of El Camino Real: A female patron contacted police after discovering that her $4,000 brooch was stolen from her hotel room.

Drunk in public arrests

Dec. 29, 10:38 p.m., 400 block of South San Antonio Road: Acting on a resident’s phone call about a suspicious person, police found a 35-year-old male Los Altos resident hiding in the garbage area of a business and arrested him after determining that he was drunk. The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Jan. 6, 3:24 a.m., West El Camino Real and Shoreline Boulevard: Police arrested a 27-year-old male after they determined that he was too inebriated to care for himself. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Theft

Dec. 30, 2:46 p.m., 300 block of Bellevue Court: An unknown suspect stole two packages valued at $150 from a home’s front porch.

DUI arrest

Jan. 1, 11:36 a.m., Grant and Covington roads: Acting on multiple calls about an erratic driver in the area, police pulled over a 52-year-old female motorist from Cupertino and arrested her for drunken driving. The female suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Residential burglary

Jan. 1, 11:05 p.m., 200 block of North Avalon Drive: An unknown suspect entered a home through its skylight, ransacked the bedroom and stole $50,000 worth of jewelry, purses and coins. The homeowners were out of town at the time of the burglary, according to police.
