JOHN COLOMBINI

OBIT JohnColombini

Resident of Los Altos

John Colombini passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Son of Noncia and Archangelo Colombini, he was raised in Half Moon Bay and graduated from Pescadero High School. At 91 he had lived a life full of family and friends. He was married 55 years to his beloved wife, Ruth, and together they had three daughters, Nancy (Mike) Schneider, Jonna (Dave) Bonzani, and Cathy (Tim) Mosley. He had 6 grandchildren, Michele and Samantha Schneider, Chris and Gina Bonzani, Jody and Dani Mosley, and 2 great granddaughters, Olivia and Julliette. After his wife Ruth’s passing he was lucky to find a wonderful companion in Sally Gidaro.

In WWII John served in the Army Infantry in England and Germany where he served as a Tank Commander. Upon returning home he moved to the Santa Clara Valley and worked at a concrete company as salesman and sales manager. He helped build the valley to what it is today, working on the San Jose airport and the first tilt up buildings and high rises used by Silicon Valley businesses.

He was proud of his family and his service to his country. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Honor Flight Northern California, 17669 Warwick Place, Anderson CA 96007 or their website: www.honorflightnorcal.org. They provided Dad with one of his greatest trips of his life, visiting the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC with other veterans. Funeral services have been held.
