Oct. 16, 3:50 p.m., 800 block of Fremont Avenue: Police responded to a report of a physical altercation between two dementia patients at an elder-care facility who were arguing over a walker. No one was arrested.
Oct. 17, 1:42 a.m., Grant Road and Morton Avenue: Police arrested a 28-year-old male motorist for driving under the influence of alcohol after originally receiving a report of a solo car collision along Grant Road earlier in the evening. Officers responding to the report found the driver on the side of the road, along with his damaged vehicle, and eventually determined that he was intoxicated. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Oct. 18, 12:20 p.m., 2400 block of Cristo Rey Place: An unknown suspect entered via an unlocked back door and stole iPads and laptops from a residence.
Oct. 19, 1:24 p.m., 1400 block of Ranchita Drive: An unknown suspect gained entry to a residential construction site secured with chain-link fencing and stole $2,100 worth of power tools.
Oct. 20, 11:01 a.m., 800 block of Amber Lane: A stolen vehicle report turned out to be a case of miscommunication between a husband and wife. According to police, a male resident reported that his car had been stolen from his driveway, shortly after calling a tow truck to jump-start the vehicle, which had a dead battery. It was later discovered that the man’s wife took the car, which was running in the driveway at the time, for a road trip without telling her husband of her plans.
