Fred Hansen, resident of Los Gatos CA, died unexpectedly due to a fall in his condominium in Puerto Vallarta Mexico September 24th 2013. He was there celebrating his recent birthday and working on plans to build his retirement home.
Fred was a graduate of Los Altos High School in 1969, an Eagle Scout at the age of 13, and active in forming a new Boy Scout troop in that community. In this capacity Fred became expert at managing all property and financial aspects of the multimillion dollar organization.
Highly self-reliant in his personal life from his youth onward, Fred maintained a diverse and active lifestyle with many people and various interests including playing the piano, driving high performance cars & motorcycles, flying his Cessna TR-182 aircraft, and traveling throughout the world. He was an accomplished amateur sports photographer who volunteered his skills for several local high school teams.
Fred was a thoughtful caretaker of his mother, Martha Hansen, who precedes him in death. He maintained lifelong associations with many friends and former coworkers by being generous with his time, advice, and assistance in their lives. He is survived by his brother Karl, nephew Erik, and nieces Jennifer and Andrea Jane (AJ).
