WYNN DAVIS

WynnDavis

Wynn Davis, longtime resident of Los Altos, passed away September 28, 2013. Winifred (Wynn) Eloise Munson was born March 14, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from the Michigan Institute of Music in piano studies. For her graduation she played the George Gershwin concerto “Rhapsody in Blue” one of her favorite works for piano. She enjoyed drawing and painting as a hobby. Her daughters shared her interest in the arts as both graduated in the arts field.

Wynn and her family moved from Palo Alto to Los Altos in 1961. Wynn taught piano while her children were young. She was later active in the Peninsula Symphony Auxiliary from 1964 to 1970. She served as co-host for the Los Altos guild programs held in various homes. As a trained pianist, she accompanied the featured symphony musician on a few of those occasions.

Beginning in the 1970’s Wynn formed her own music talent agency, Danza Productions, which booked various local musicians focusing on contemporary and pop music. Like her mother, Jan also shares the entrepreneurial spirit with her own business in graphic arts. Wynn enjoyed her talent agency career until retiring around 1995.

Wynn was very health conscious and active throughout her life. Many of the activities she enjoyed included ballroom, country, disco dancing and hiking.

Wynn is survived by daughters Bonnie Crumbley of Lompoc, CA, Jan Davis of Los Altos, former husband Bob Davis and her brother Russel Munson. Their son Greg passed away in 1998. She has 4 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A gathering of the family is being planned to celebrate Wynn’s life and share memories of the family and friends who love her.
