Vehicle burglaries

Sept. 10, 9:57 p.m., 10:17 p.m. and 10:20 p.m., 200 block of Third Street and First and Main streets: The windows of three vehicles parked in downtown public parking plazas were smashed by an unknown suspect. Laptops, iPads and briefcases were among the items stolen from the vehicles.

Possession of controlled substance

Sept. 12, 10:33 a.m., West El Camino Real and Escuela Avenue: Police arrested a 24-year-old male motorist from Fremont for possession of methamphetamine and a pipe following a search of his vehicle. The search was pursuant to the motorist’s probation terms for a previous violation. He was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Residential burglary

Sept. 13, 2:21 p.m., 200 block of Aspen Drive: An unknown suspect entered a residence through an unlocked bedroom window and stole a television set and other electronics.

Drunk in public arrest

Sept. 13, 9:35 p.m., 200 block of Third Street: Police arrested a 32-year-old male from Fremont after judging him too intoxicated to care for himself. The arrest came after a resident notified police that the man was attempting to drive home after leaving a downtown restaurant. The motorist was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Stolen vehicle recovered

Sept. 14, 6:54 a.m., 600 block of Los Ninos Way: Police contacted a Los Altos couple to inform them that their 1996 Acura was recovered in San Jose. At the time of contact, the residents were unaware that their vehicle had been stolen.

Grand theft

Sept. 14, 6:24 p.m., 1100 block of Main Street: Two employees at a downtown nail salon reported that someone stole their purses, which contained iPhones, credit cards and cash.

DUI arrest

Sept. 15, 12:29 a.m., El Camino Real and Sherwood Avenue: Police arrested a 25-year-old female motorist from Milpitas for driving under the influence of alcohol. – Diego Abeloos
