Bird safari set for Sunday

A Shoreline Bird Safari for families and beginning birdwatchers is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Shoreline Park.

The tour departs from Rengstorff House, 3070 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View. Participants will trek to Charleston Slough as they learn the names and unique markings of birds commonly found in the area.

Arts Festival continues

The 2013 Rengstorff House Arts Festival continues through the end of the month. Dedicated to the memory of the late jazz great Dave Brubeck, the festival is a monthlong celebration of music and the arts.

A concert featuring Trio Organica is scheduled 2 p.m. Sunday at Renstorff House, 3070 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View.

A fine-arts exhibition, open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays at Rengstorff House, showcases local artists and student artwork from the Art4Schools program of the Community School of Music and Arts.

CSMA hosts annual open house

The Community School of Music and Arts has scheduled an open house 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the school’s Finn Center, 230 San Antonio Circle, Mountain View.

The event is designed to showcase the music and art programs at the 25,000-square-foot facility.

Activities will include hands-on art and music demonstrations, live student performances, tours of the facility and a meet-and-greet with faculty and staff. Prospective students can learn more about CSMA’s private music lessons and art, music and preschool programs.

CSMA’s 200-seat Tateuchi Hall will host instrument demonstrations with music school faculty as well as live performances by CSMA Merit Scholar students. Art and music demonstrations are slated during the event, including digital arts and ceramics.
