July 1, 2:10 p.m., El Monte Avenue and Foothill Expressway: A bicyclist punched out the driver-side window of a motorist’s vehicle. The motorist told police he had pulled over onto the shoulder of northbound Foothill Expressway, near El Monte, to check a text message when the incident occurred.

Grand theft

July 2, 12:39 a.m., 1200 block of Windimer Drive: A resident contacted police after an overnight guest at his home allegedly stole $1,100 in cash and $5,000 in jewelry.

Residential burglary

July 2, 6:14 p.m., 1100 block of Covington Road: A burglar kicked in the side door to a residence’s garage, entered the home and stole jewelry and cash.

Felony warrant arrest

July 4, 11:50 a.m., Ednamary Way and El Monte Avenue: Police arrested a 42-year-old male during a traffic stop after discovering that he had an outstanding warrant for felony vandalism and resisting arrest. The suspect was driving with a suspended driver’s license at the time of the stop. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

DUI arrest

July 6, 10:48 p.m., 1100 block of Runnymead Drive: Police arrested a 56-year-old male for driving under the influence of alcohol after initially receiving a call from the suspect’s father regarding a family disturbance. Police arrived at the home of the resident’s father and discovered that the son already left the area by car. Police tracked down the man’s son near Magdalena and Summerhill avenues and discovered that he was driving while inebriated. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
