1.    Description of Work:  The City of Los Altos, Santa Clara County, California, invites sealed proposals or bids for

A. Sewer Collection System Upgrade, Project 12-10: Line approximately 856 lf of existing 36? & 39? sewer main on San Antonio Rd./Frontage Rd., and approximately 472 lf of existing 30? sewer main on El Monte Rd. with cured-in-place pipe, and rehabilitate one manhole in Bayshore Parkway, as described in the Contract.

B. Annual Sewer Repair, Project 13-04:  Line approximately 297 lf of existing 39? sewer main on San Antonio Rd./Frontage Rd., and approximately 426 lf of existing 30? sewer main on El Monte Rd with cured-in-place pipe, and rehabilitate one manhole in Bayshore Parkway, as described in the Contract.

2.    Location of Work:  All of said work is to be done within the public rights of way in the Cities of Los Altos, Palo Alto and Mountain View at the places indicated on the Contract Drawings.  Work at State Highway 101 is under the jurisdiction of Caltrans.

3.    Contract Documents:  A copy of the plans (half-size) and specifications shall be obtained from the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, 1 North San Antonio Road, Los Altos, California, 94022 for a non-refundable fee of $50.00.  Copies may also be inspected at the office of the City Engineer.

4.    Labor Compliance.  Pursuant to paragraph 7-1.01A, Labor Code Requirements, of the General Provisions in these specifications, Contractor is required to comply with California Labor Code Section 1770, et seq. This Code requires the Contractor to pay their workers based on prevailing wage rates established and issued by the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor and Statistics and Research.

5.    Pre-bid Site Review:  There will be no pre-bid conference or formal site review. Prospective bidders are directed to Section 2-1.03 of the General Provisions.

6.    Contractor's License:  The Contractor is required to have a Class A or Class C-34 license for this work.

7.    Location of Bid Submittal and Date and Time of Opening:  Said sealed proposals shall be delivered to the City Engineer of said City on or before 2 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at City Hall, 1 North San Antonio Road, Los Altos, CA.  Proposals received will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time.

8.     Time of Completion of Work:  The work shall be completed and ready for full use within seventy-five (75) calendar days, the first day of which shall be the date specified in the City Engineer's "Notice to Proceed".

9.    Project Administration:  All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be in writing and directed to the City Engineer, City of Los Altos, 1 North San Antonio Rd., Los Altos, CA, 94022.
