Fine-arts docent Kay Payne is scheduled to present two illustrated lectures on “Impressionists on the Water” 7:30 p.m. June 17 and 24 in the Program Room of the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.

The lectures explore the “Impressionists on the Water Exhibition,” which runs through Oct. 13 at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.

The exhibition explores nautical life through more than 80 paintings and works on paper by Impressionists such as Monet, Renoir and Pissarro and Post-Impressionists including Denis and Signac, artists whose work reflects their understanding of and engagement with boating and competition.

For more information on the lectures, call 948-7683 or visit www.sccl.org.
