Schaefer swims at Santa Clara Grand Prix

Los Altos resident Maddy Schaefer posted top-25 finishes in the women’s 100- and 50-meter freestyle finals at the Arena International Grand Prix, which concluded June 2 at the George F. Haines International Swim Center in Santa Clara. The St. Francis High graduate placed 23rd in the 100 free (56.89 seconds) and 24th in the 50 free (26.34). Schaefer is entering her junior year at Stanford University, where she stars on the swim team.

SFHS alums hit links Friday in Santa Clara

The St. Francis/Holy Cross High School Alumni Association has scheduled its fifth annual golf tournament Friday at Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. Local baseball club sets travel-team tryouts

Registration is open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The region serves boys and girls in grades K-12 who live in northern Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. Circuit race needs sponsors

Sponsors are sought for the third annual Foothill College Circuit Race, “The Learning Curve,” scheduled July 14 on the campus in Los Altos Hills. Foothill College and the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club host the bicycle race, which raises funds to construct a multiuse bike and pedestrian path encircling the 122-acre campus. Organizers seek a title sponsor ($5,000), individual race sponsors ($300-$1,300) and prize sponsors (product donations).
