Duke inspires

Los Altos High third baseman Duke Myers was named Most Inspirational Player at last month’s Bay Area World Series in Santa Clara. The annual tournament is a showcase for the area’s top high school baseball players. Myers is entering his senior year at Los Altos.

Flag football camp

After School Athletics’ eighth-annual Flag Football Summer Camp is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon July 29 through Aug. 2 at Foothill College, 12345 S. El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. Coaches include Foothill head coach Kelly Edwards and former Mountain View High head coach Toure Carter, now an assistant at West Valley College. Retired NFL Super Bowl champions are scheduled to speak at the camp, open to boys and girls entering grades 3-8. The camp is focused on fun, fundamentals, individual and team skills, and speed and agility drills. Cost is $250, $300 with lunch. Registration is open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The region serves boys and girls in grades K-12 who live in northern Los Altos and Los Altos Hills.
