The Peninsulaires Men’s Chorus, the Mission Valley Women’s Chorus and the Stanford University Ballroom Dance Team are scheduled to perform 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at Palo Alto’s Spangenberg Theater to raise awareness about and funds for the USO of Northern California.
The groups will sing and dance to music from the 1940s, ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of service by the USO to America’s men and women in uniform. To honor those who have served and USO volunteers, the Peninsulaires Men’s Chorus, Mission Valley Women’s Chorus and Stanford University Ballroom Dance Team have joined forces for Saturday’s event.
The USO of Northern California has three locations: San Jose Airport, San Francisco Airport and Travis Air Force Base. They serve the needs of the armed forces personnel and their families as they travel to and from assignments. Financial support for USO of Northern California comes exclusively through donations from local businesses and individuals – not from the National USO.
Advance tickets to Saturday’s concert are $25, discounted to $20 for active-duty military and families.
Spangenberg Theater is located at Gunn High School, 780 Arastradero Road.
