Connecting on the "Web"

“Charlotte’s Web,” a collaboration between the Foothill College Theatre Arts Department and Peninsula Youth Theatre, is scheduled to run this weekend at Smithwick Theatre in Los Altos Hills.

The Foothill College Theatre Arts Department and Peninsula Youth Theatre join forces to stage “Charlotte’s Web,” scheduled Thursday through Sunday at Foothill’s Smithwick Theatre in Los Altos Hills.

“Web” is adapted from E.B. White’s classic children’s novel by Joseph Robinette. The play is the story of Wilbur, a small, radiant pig with a big heart befriended by the other farm animals and a kind-hearted, plucky spider, who band together to save his bacon.

Directed by Foothill instructor Tom Gough, “Web” stars Emily Ota of Menlo Park as Charlotte and Jaime Tuttle of Cupertino as Wilbur. The 30-member cast includes Los Altos residents Chris Mitchell, Rachel Singleton and Jessica Yurash, and Eri Nakamura and Breanna Park of Mountain View.

Performances are scheduled 10:15 a.m. Thursday and Friday, 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Foothill College is located at 12345 S. El Monte Road.

Tickets are $8, with discounts available for groups of 15 or more. Parking is $2.

For advance tickets and more information, call 949-7360 or 988-8798, ext. 303.
