Entertainment and food augment LA Rotary's annual fine art show

The Los Altos Rotary Club has scheduled its annual Fine Art in the Park show 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 16 and 17 in Lincoln Park at Foothill Expressway and Main Street in Los Altos.

The event, free and open to the public, features original, juried works by more than 175 artists, wine tasting, food and entertainment. All funds raised will support scholarships and charitable projects both locally and internationally.

The artists display their original works in a variety of media, including painting, jewelry, ceramics, photography, textiles, mixed media, sculpture and wood. The most popular of last year's artists will be joined by 50 new participants. Los Altos Hills artist Meryl Udrang will debut her silk and glass works.

Food offerings will include Chef Chu's chicken salad, Mojo Burgers, Maui Wowie smoothies, Skip's Pizza and grilled bratwurst.

In the wine and beer tents, three California wines selected by Vino 100 Los Altos will be poured by the glass.

In addition to face painting, the entertainment schedule for May 16 will feature the Los Altos High School Jazz Ensemble (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), Sam Rudin – Boogie, Blues and Jazz (1-3 p.m.) and The Jazz ConneXion (3-5 p.m.). On May 17, entertainers scheduled are Vince Gomez Trio (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), Georgi and the Rough Week (1-3 p.m.) and Blues Cadillac (3-5 p.m.).

Free parking and shuttle service are available at Los Altos High School, 201 Almond Ave.
