GreenTown Los Altos has scheduled the second Historic Bike Tour of Los Altos 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 28 beginning at the Los Altos History Museum, 51 S. San Antonio Road.
The 8-mile tour will cover various local points of interest and include stops at nearly two dozen of the city’s historical sites and homes. Riders can learn the stories behind the sites and their significance. The tour finishes back at the museum for lunch.
The tour will stop at the old Farnsworth Farms House, the Winchester-Merriman House and the Paul Shoup House.
“It’s a great family-friendly way to spend a Saturday morning,” said organizer Gary Hedden, adding that registration is limited, “so don’t wait to sign up.”
Participants should bring their own water. Restroom facilities will be available at the museum and at approximately the halfway point. A bike mechanic will be on duty during the ride. A signed waiver of liability is required upon registration.
Cost is $20 per person, free for children under 18. Proceeds benefit GreenTown Los Altos and the Los Altos History Museum.
