The Mountain View High boys volleyball team captured the Campbell Classic Saturday, beating Mt. Madonna 25-12, 25-21 in the final.

Led by Kurt Dentinger (31 kills) and Jake Stuebner (30), the Spartans went 5-0 in the tourney. They improved to 10-0 for the season.

Los Altos earned its first win of the season, topping host Sacred Heart Prep 15-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-16 Friday. Freshman David Stien paced the Eagles with 15 kills.

St. Francis defeated Serra 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-23 Thursday behind 15 kills from Jeff Castello.

Softball

Mountain View flogged Fremont 16-4 Friday, propelled by sophomore Reanna Lancaster. She pitched four innings to get the win and reached base four times, scoring four runs and driving in another.

Los Altos blanked Palo Alto 5-0 Thursday to improve to 5-2-1. Lizzy Beutter struck out nine batters for the host Eagles and Kaya Agustin had two hits.

Boys tennis

Mountain View last week routed Pinewood and Wilcox, then fell to St. Francis.

Los Altos edged Saratoga 4-3 Thursday. The Eagles won three singles matches, with Anthony Bello prevailing at No. 1.

Track & field

Mountain View swept Saratoga Thursday, with the girls winning 82-41 and the boys 67-60.

Golf

Los Altos edged Homestead 211-214 March 13 at Sunnyvale Muni.

Los Altos Hills resident Andrew Buchanan (37) led Menlo to a 200-205 win over Harker March 13 at Palo Alto Hills.
