George was born in San Francisco to Katu Lazaneo Biocini and George J. Biocini Sr., Croatian immigrants from the Island of Brac`. George was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother, uncle and friend. After a happy and healthy life, George passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home in his sleep the morning of March 13, 2013 at the age of 97. George grew up in San Francisco with 6 brothers and sisters where he attended Balboa High School. In 1941 he married the love of his life, Winnie Ann Eterovich, moved to the Peninsula and raised 3 daughters while building automobile and laundry businesses. Together they grew their family and friend ships and in 2012, with 230 guests, celebrated 71 years of marriage. George was a proud member of The Slavonic Mutual Benevolent Society and Croatian Cultural Center for 78 years. He enjoyed dancing, playing his saxophone, sports and played on the 1939 World’s Fair Soccer Team. An avid golfer until 95, he scored his last hole in one at age 89. He was known as a man who was fun loving, cared deeply for family and friends, worked hard, stood up for what’s right, helped others, and was half of the dynamic ‘Winnie & George’ partnership which was an inspiration and great role model of how to live life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife Winnie Biocini, daughters Linda Schneller (Chad), Peggy Biocini, Georgia Watson (Chris), grandchildren Stacey Schneller, Cas Schneller (Missy), Jennifer Accola (Arend), Heather Volkman (Ben), Ashley Watson, and great grandchildren Jackson, Mila and Audrey Schneller, Bella and Mackenzie Volkman, Emma and Ava Accola as well as in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by his family as a kind, loving, loyal, and honest man with a great sense of humor. The men in his family say, “We can all learn to be better men, husbands and fathers from the way Papa lived his life and the lessons he taught all of us”. George will be missed and we celebrate his long, healthy, happy life.
