The annual Silicon Valley Prayer Breakfast is scheduled 7-8:30 a.m. March 14 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 5101 Great American Parkway in Santa Clara.
Keynote speaker Mark Joseph, multimedia producer, author and founder of MJM Entertainment Group, will discuss “The Intersection of Film, Faith and Pop Culture,” drawing from his experiences in Hollywood.
Currently in production with the feature film “Reagan,” a biopic of former President Ronald Reagan, Joseph has worked on the development and/or marketing of 25 films, including “Holes,” “The Chronicles of Narnia,” “The Passion of the Christ” and “Saving Sarah Cain.” He founded the nation’s first faith-based short film festival, the Damah Film Festival, in 2000 and serves as president of its board of directors.
Jaida Im, founder and executive director of Freedom House, a safe home for women rescued from human trafficking, and Sanjay Poonen, president of the mobile division and corporate officer at SAP, will also address the group.
Im, a Los Altos resident, is founder and executive director of Freedom House, which brings hope, restores human dignity and builds a new life for human-trafficking survivors. Plans are under way to open The Nest, a safe home and aftercare program for girls 12-17. Im has more than 20 years of experience as a health-care professional.
Poonen serves as president of technology solutions and the mobile division at SAP. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Dartmouth and master’s degrees in management science and engineering from Stanford and Harvard Business School.
“We are delighted to have such inspiring speakers from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to make a difference in their communities,” said Chairman Skip Vaccarello.
The Silicon Valley Prayer Breakfast was founded in 1994 by a group of Los Altos couples. Now in its 19th year, the event is dedicated to featuring speakers with inspiring Christian testimonies. It is neither a fundraiser nor associated with any particular church or denomination.
Tickets are $35 per person.
