Judy Marcus

Los Altos Hills resident Judy Marcus, a civic leader and philanthropist, is scheduled to be inducted into San Francisco State University’s Alumni Hall of Fame March 15 as one of the university’s most accomplished graduates.

Marcus has dedicated her time and leadership to many local nonprofit organizations, including the Community Services Agency, where she served as president of the board. She has also served on the board at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga.

She graduated from San Francisco State in 1962 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.

Together with her husband, George Marcus (B.A., Class of 1965), she is a longtime supporter of the university.

The university’s Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes graduates who have earned the respect of their peers through professional, cultural and civic achievements. Previous inductees include actor Jeffrey Tambor, “Frasier” co-creator and executive producer Peter Casey and NASA astronaut Yvonne Cagle.

The university will welcome Marcus into the Hall of Fame at a dinner and reception in San Francisco, which will also celebrate the formal investiture of the school’s new president, Leslie E. Wong.
