PYT’s ‘Fiddler’ finishes run Sunday |

Peninsula Youth Theatre’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof” is scheduled to close Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. “Fiddler” tells the tale of a Russian patriarch who struggles to make sure his five daughters maintain their culture and religion. The musical features songs such as “Tradition,” “Matchmaker,” “If I Were a Rich Man” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”
Winner of nine Tony awards – including Best Musical – “Fiddler” opened on Broadway in 1964 and was made into a movie in 1971. Bill Starr directs the PYT production, supported by David Herberg (musical director) and Valerie Valenzuela (choreographer). Performances are slated 9:30 a.m. Thursday, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $7-$20.
