Mark Edward Snow, 53, of Ann Arbor, MI passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at his home after a valiant fight against throat cancer. He leaves his loving wife of 28 years, Claudette, and his wonderful children, Spencer and Audrey. He was loved by his parents, Edward & Emma Idonna Snow of Duvall, WA and Los Altos, CA and his sisters, Marcia Caldwell (Steve) of Mercer Island, WA and Sandra Kaufman (Ron) of Santa Cruz, CA. He will be missed by the many relatives, colleagues, friends and students whose lives he has touched. Mark was born on April 1, 1959 in Salt Lake City, UT and grew up in the Los Altos, CA area where he attended public schools and graduated from Awalt (now Mountain View) High School. Mark received his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley, his PhD at Johns Hopkins University, and his teaching certificate at Eastern Michigan University. He worked at Schering-Plough and Pfizer as a computational chemist from 1992 until 2006. In 2008, he started teaching at the International Academy West in White Lake, MI. Mark was passionate about teaching biology and math and truly enjoyed his many students and colleagues at IA West. Mark loved his family, dogs, baseball, playing tennis, fishing, nature walks, and practicing Buddhism. His wish was for everyone to find Kindness, Compassion, Respect, Love, & Happiness. Leaving this life was a hard struggle for Mark but with his spiritual beliefs and the support of his family, friends, and the committed staff of Arbor Hospice, he was able to pass peacefully at home.

A celebration of Mark’s life will take place in Ann Arbor in mid-March. More details can be found at www.muehligannarbor.com.
