Mohammad H. Qayoumi, president of San Jose State University, is scheduled to speak 1-4 p.m. March 10 at the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.

Friendship Force of the San Francisco Bay Area hosts the free talk, titled “Higher Education at a Crossroads.”

Qayoumi, in collaboration with Silicon Valley leaders, has developed objectives for reforming higher education. He will answer questions on education and on his native Afghanistan.

Friendship Force International has more than 360 chapters on six continents that promote global peace and friendships through hosting of club members from all over the world.

A social time is slated to follow the talk, including light refreshments and the opportunity to learn about club activities.
