Carol V. Fernandez was born December 23, 1925 in San Francisco, CA. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the age of 87, she comfortably passed in her sleep. A mother of three, she is survived by her children Mike, Sandy and Bill. As a grandmother to 7, and a great grandmother to an additional 7, her legacy now lives on through them. She completely filled those roles.

She was an amazing, sassy adventurous woman. She was a wife for 25 years and then a young widow to Hector in 1969. As a young couple they moved to Los Altos In 1953 when orchards were all you could see and where they raised their family. She was incredibly independent and strong, a great role model for all the women in the family. By day, she loved to garden and had an extensive collection of flowers and roses. By night she was an incred

ible seamstress, known for making waffles at midnight for broods of friends who would wander in after football games. She was always ready for an adventure and road trip. She traveled throughout the world as well as here at home in the U.S., including Australia, Russia, China, Japan, Europe, England, and Canada (and has the knick knacks and dishes to prove it). She loved hopping in her car and taking off, humming to Frank Sinatra. But by far the highlight in her life was to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed.

Services remembering her life and love have been held.
