Joyce: loving mother, wife, and daughter. She will forever shine in the heavens above and be dearly missed by all. The daughter of George and Jane Miller, she was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on August 29, 1923. As a hard working woman, Joyce aspired to achieve many great things. Joyce graduated high school at the age of 17 and went to work for the F.B.I. Her work took her to a variety of different places, but she eventually ended up in Washington D.C. where she met F.B.I. agent, Robert Thau. Soon, wedding bells could be heard and the two were married.

In 1958, they settled down in the S.F. Bay Area and raised a family. Not only was Joyce a dedicated wife and homemaker, but she devoted much of her life to volunteering in the community. She was a strong leader in the Campfire Girls and eventually became director of the Santa Clara County Division. After her daughters graduated from high school, Joyce donated her time towards the Auxiliary in the El Camino Hospital. The 30 years she spent volunteering there are a clear testament to her dedication.

Joyce is survived by two daughters: Barbara Vaughan and Susan Craddock, three grandchildren: Shannon Wilson, Dylan Craddock, and Christine Vaughan, and four great-grandchildren: Khloe Wilson, Kolson Wilson, and Austin and Colby Craddock.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, February 14th at 2:00pm at Christ Episcopal Church. 1040 Border Road Los Altos, CA 94024. All are welcome.
