A curious young shopper examines various items on display at the newly remodeled Gymboree Play &amp Music at Rancho Shopping Center. The remodeled space opened its doors last week.

Gymboree Play & Music opened a remodeled location at Rancho Shopping Center last week, welcoming infants and children who explored the enlarged play area.

Founded in 1976, Gymboree is designed to foster creativity and confidence in children up to 5 years old.

“From the moment they walk in the door, parents can see we have created an environment where kids are free to move, play and explore safely,” said Gymboree manager Stephanie Spencer.

The new play equipment is custom designed to provide a range of age-appropriate challenges and skill-building exercises. Children can participate and learn at their own pace.

Gymboree offers art classes that inspire a child’s imagination and self-expression with a variety of hands-on activities, Spencer said.

Music classes, she added, enhance a child’s development and love of music through song, dance and movement games. As children get involved, they experience the power of rhythm, melody and tonality.

Gymboree Play & Music is located at 664 Fremont Ave., Los Altos.
