Foothill College has scheduled a Cash for College Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the college’s Middlefield Campus, Building 1, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.

The annual workshop, designed for current and potential college students and their parents, provides one-stop service to complete financial aid applications. Participants may attend one of the line-by-line Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshops and/or work individually with financial aid professionals.

The event is ideal for high school and college students who currently attend or plan to attend a California community college, CSU campus, UC campus, private university or vocational/technical school.

Foothill’s financial aid professionals will answer individual questions and provide assistance. Activities include a workshop to help families complete the FAFSA and Cal Grant GPA Verification forms that are required to apply for Cal Grants and other types of financial aid.

Reservations are not required. Attendees do not need to stay for the entire event. Students who file individual or joint tax returns should bring their personal income and asset information. Students who are claimed as dependents on a parent’s income-tax return should bring the parent’s income and asset information, including the 2012 federal income-tax return if already prepared; records of other untaxed income such as welfare benefits, Social Security benefits, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, veterans’ benefits, or military or clergy allowances; and a W-2 form or other records such as check stubs of income earned in 2012. Parents of dependent students are encouraged to attend Cash for College Day with their students.

Admission and parking are free.
