St. Simon School’s ninth annual Father Murray Memorial Basketball Tournament is scheduled Thursday through Sunday in Los Altos.

Eight boys teams and eight girls teams are set to compete in the eighth-grade tournament in the school gym. Participating schools include St. Nicholas (Los Altos), St. Raymond (Menlo Park), St. Apollinaris (Napa), Sacred Heart Prep (Atherton), Hillview (Menlo Park), Catholic Academy of Sunnyvale, Castilleja (Palo Alto), Menlo (Atherton) and host St. Simon.

The tourney honors the late Father Tom Murray, a priest who lived in retirement at St. Simon Parish for 12 years and was a fixture at school basketball games.

First-round games are scheduled 4, 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Ten games are slated for Saturday, beginning at 8:45 a.m. Six games are set for Sunday, starting at 9:45 a.m., with the girls final at 3 p.m. and the boys final at 5 p.m.

Organizers of this year’s event include chairwomen Susie Larson and Renee Delfino and school athletic director Kevin Smith.

Gourmet chefs Jim Meola and Jim Otis run the snack bar, which will feature gourmet pizza and chicken teriyaki bowls.

Daily tickets are $7 general admission, $5 for students and seniors, and free for children under 5. All proceeds benefit the St. Simon Athletic Department.

St. Simon is located at 1840 Grant Road, Los Altos.
