Shout-out for valet parking

I just wanted to say thank you for experimenting and trying out the valet program this year. I loved it.

I took advantage of it multiple times.

I would like to suggest that the Los Altos Village Association and the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce post information about this program on the landing pages of both their websites. The only reference I could find about the valet parking was through the Town Crier and Patch.

Although I saw “Free” signs on the corners, I think it would be helpful to have them more visible right at the entrance to the valet lot. The reason I say this is because as the valet was retrieving my car, I noticed multiple cars either slow down and continue driving or pull up, then pull out and drive away as if confused.

The valet said approximately 40 percent of cars pull in, then pull out and leave.

I know there are “Free” signs at the corners, but maybe a larger, more visible sign right at the entrance to the valet stand would be helpful.

Finally, you should survey the valets themselves and get their feedback on any patterns they observed about who was using the service and how, etc. I did fill out and mail the little yellow questionnaire the valet gave me.

I would love to see this program continue every year. Thanks so much for trying it out. I have sent a similar note to the Chamber of Commerce.
