Lillian Hansen passed away peacefully on December 30, 2012.

Lillian was born in 1924 in Brooklyn New York to parents William and Lillian Weitzenberg and older brother Joseph. At the age of 13, Lillian and her family moved to the west coast and settled in Los Altos. Their creek side property at the end of Portola Road would later serve as the backdrop for many family gatherings and celebrations enjoyed by multiple generations of the Hansen/Weitzenberg family.

Lillian married Walter Hansen in 1948 and had three children: Gary Robert Hansen, Hans Peter Hansen II and Kristen Louise Hansen.

Lillian is survived by her four grandchildren, Jean Ikeda, William Hansen, Hans Peter Hansen III and Dustin Hansen. Her two daughers-in-law Judith Hansen and Jane Hansen and three great grandchildren Avery, Kristen and Paden Ikeda.

Lillian devoted most of her life to volunteer work and was a two-term President of the El Camino Hospital Auxiliary in addition to giving thousands of hours of her time to the organization. She also volunteered at the Los Altos History Museum and was a member of the Los Altos United Methodist Church.

Lillian was happiest spending time with her family at Pajaro Dunes, working in her garden, listening to classical music and reading a great novel.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 19th at the Los Altos United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Rd, Los Altos.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Los Altos History Museum, 51 S. San Antonio Rd, Los Altos, California 94022.
