Marisa Jean Whitlock and Joseph Reed Cannon have announced their engagement to be married in January.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jeannie and Brian Whitlock of Los Altos. She attended Los Altos High School and graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in political science/international relations. She is employed at Renewal2 Investment Fund and teaches The Bar Method in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The groom-to-be is the son of Barbara Cannon of Los Altos Hills and Joseph Cannon of Laguna Beach. He attended St. Francis High School and graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in political science. He is the goalkeeper for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, a Major League Soccer team.

The couple live in Vancouver, British Columbia.
