1927-2012

Marian died Dec 1st from a rapid decline after a fall. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard, and her children, John Davies, Seattle and Ruth Davies Sulser, St. Louis. Marian was born in the Himalayan mountains (Pakistan) where her parents were missionaries. She received a BA from Wooster College, 1948, a Masters in Latin American Studies at Tulane University and a PhD in Spanish Literature from Stanford University. She lived most of her adult life in Palo Alto, where she was active in Covenant Presbyterian Church and Church Women United. She also worked with ESL teaching and the Environmental Volunteers. Memorial Donations can be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 670 E. Meadow Dr., Palo Alto.
