Bus Barn Stage Company is scheduled to present “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” Thursday through Dec. 22 at Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave., Los Altos.

Adapted by Joe Landry from the original Academy Award-winning screenplay, George Bailey and Bedford Falls come to life onstage as a live 1940s radio program with five actors playing all the characters. The play evokes the era when the screenplay was written.

Ana-Catrina Buchser directs a cast featuring Martin Gagen as Jake Laurents (the voice of George Bailey), Clara Hirsh as Sally Applewhite (the voice of Mary), Ryk Houseman as Freddie Filmore (the voice of Clarence, among others), Katherine Leyva as Lana Sherwood (the voice of Violet, among others) and Charles Woodson Parker as Harry (the voice of Joseph, among others). Charles Morgan is the pianist.

Performances are slated 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Thursday’s show is a preview; Friday is opening night, with a reception following the performance. A discussion with the director and cast is scheduled after the Dec. 8 performance.

Tickets are $18-$32.

For advance tickets and more information, call 941-0551 or visit www.busbarn.org.
