The Pacific Ballet Academy of Mountain View is slated to present “The Nutcracker” this weekend in Mountain View.

The two-act ballet is part of the academy’s 22nd season. The dances in this production of “Nutcracker” have been choreographed for each level of student at the dance school – from pre-ballet through advanced – so that as many students as possible can perform.

The holiday classic centers on young Clara, who joins her family and friends at a Christmas party and is given the Nutcracker doll by her beloved godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer. Later that night, Clara’s doll comes to life.

Performances are scheduled 1 and 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12:30 and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

Tickets are $24-$28.

For advance tickets and more information, call 903-6565 or visit www.ci.mtnview.ca.us/mvcpa.
