Armed robbery reported at Foothill College Print E-mail
Written by Diego Abeloos

Foothill College campus police today (Nov. 19) reported an on-campus armed robbery that occurred at approximately 9 a.m.

Foothill College spokesman Kurt Hueg told the Town Crier a young man armed with a gun allegedly confronted two male students and stole their backpacks.

The suspect was last seen running from the school’s footbridge onto campus. He is described as 18 to 25 years of age, African-American, 5 foot 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with close-cropped black hair and wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt.

According to Hueg, the two victims were confronted on the footbridge, which connects the school's gymnasium to the main campus area. Statements by the victims revealed that the suspect displayed a gun tucked into his belt during the robbery, he added. A school lockdown is not in effect as a result of the incident, Hueg noted.
