 Olives Make your own soap
Hidden Villa’s growing goat herd produces milk that’s good to drink but serves many other purposes as well. The nonprofit organic farm has scheduled a goat milk soap-making class 1-4 p.m. Saturday at 26870 Moody Road, Los Altos Hills.
Take a walk through the organic garden to pick fresh herbs and flowers to add flair to your soap, learn the process and leave with soap and a take-home guide so that you can make nourishing soap for years to come.
Because the class uses lye, only those 16 and up may attend.
Cost is $40.

Cure your own olives
Olive season is just around the corner, and Hidden Villa offers lessons in how to make the most of this local crop. An olive curing class is scheduled 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday at 26870 Moody Road, Los Altos Hills.
The bright-green, tannic fruits need curing to become edible, and staff will give a primer on how to do it, using olives gathered from trees on the farm.
Missionaries planted and harvested the original trees in the 1880s. The Duvenecks, Hidden Villa’s founders, pressed them for oil intermittently.
Cost is $65 for adults, $55 for students and seniors.
