Election 2012: Endorsements Print E-mail
Written by Eliza Ridgeway

Endorsements at the Los Altos Town Crier come from the publisher and other members of the company's management, who form an editorial board to endorse candidates, measures and propositions in some races.

Reporters and editors do not participate in any endorsement decisions.

Reporter Traci Newell wrote about the fine line parent leaders have been walking this month between sharing information and making endorsements.

Los Altos Mayor Val Carpenter's objection to election signage also drew coverage by reporter Diego Abeloos.

Local school officials have spoken out about their support for Proposition 30 in preference to Proposition 38.

The Town Crier's Editorial Board offered a few opinions:

Los Altos School Board recommendations

• Opposition to Measures A and B

Los Altos City Council endorsements

• Endorsement of El Camino Hospital Board candidates and against Measure M

• discussion of a few of the propositions

Readers wrote in with letters to the editor providing their own take – they offered election information resources and criticized campaign mailers. Check back tomorrow (Oct. 31) for a more letters in the final edition before election day.

The Town Crier offered paid political endorsement ads during the campaign season and catalogued them here.
