El Camino Hospital welcomes farmers’ market El Camino Hospital has scheduled a weekly farmers’ market on the hospital campus 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays. The market, operated by local family farmers based in Santa Clara County, is sponsored by the hospital in partnership with the Bay Area Farmers’ Markets Association.
According to Chris Ernst, El Camino Hospital vice president of marketing and corporate communications, the market is part of a new health and wellness initiative the hospital is undertaking with its employees. “(The market) is just a natural progression of that initiative,” said Ernst, who noted that the market is slated to run through December. “We just thought it would be an important foundational element to that.” The weekly market – which will offer locally grown organic produce, fresh eggs, cheeses, breads, kettle corn, fish and nuts – will be located in the hospital campus parking lot east of the emergency entrance. All told, Ernst added, the hospital expects approximately 20 vendors on a weekly basis. The market is open to the public. For more information, visit www.elcaminohospital.org/calendar.
