The Assistance League of Silicon Valley has scheduled a book drive to collect new and gently used books for children in kindergarten through eighth grades. The drive supports Saturday’s “Make a Difference Day,” a national day of community service.
The Assistance League will donate books collected through the end of October to children at the Boys & Girls Club of Silicon Valley, Family Supportive Housing, the InnVision Shelter Network and Sacred Heart. Los Altos collection sites include the Assistance League Costume Bank, 169 State St., and Linden Tree Books, 265 State St. For more information, email
