Avenidas hosts series for family caregivers Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center has scheduled a “‘How-To’ Series for Family Caregivers” at the center, 270 Escuela Ave., Mountain View. A session on Parkinson’s disease is slated 6:30-8 p.m. Nov. 1 and a session on palliative care 6:30-8 p.m. Dec. 4.
The nonprofit Avenidas offers a day health center for less independent and frail adults as well as an aging-in-place membership program that facilitates seniors’ staying in their own homes as they age. Admission is free. Free onsite care of attendees’ aging loved ones is available with 48-hour notice. Light refreshments will be served. For more information or to RSVP, call 289-5499, email

View solicits website suggestions The Mountain View City Council is soliciting suggestions for improving its website from residents, businesses and visitors through November. One of the council’s goals for the fiscal year is to complete a website redesign that will integrate a new look, feel and concept.
