Resident of Los Altos

Vivian, 100, passed peacefully on September 5, 2012. A native San Franciscan and fourth generation Californian, she graduated from Mission High School in 1929 and went on to San Francisco State Teacher’s College. Vivian was active in community service and civic engagement including Job’s Daughters, Eastern Star, Girl Scouts, PTA, Welcome Wagon, St. Simon’s School and Garden House Seniors. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband RAdm James R. Pace, USN. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Covarrubias, Margo McKay and Jamie Reynolds; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her celebration of life ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Los Altos Lutheran Church at 1:00 pm with a reception following. She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband at Golden Gate National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are welcome through Canine Companions or cci.org
